President signed the Act on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine

New rules for residence and benefits in Poland
The Act signed by President Karol Nawrocki organizes the assistance system and responds to numerous reports of abuse.
➡️ Key changes:
✅ Legality of stay extended until March 4, 2026 – stability for nearly one million people and their employers.
✅ Social benefits (e.g., 800+) only under the condition of:
professional activity (at least 50% of the minimum wage – PLN 2,333 gross in 2025),
fulfillment of compulsory education for children (except under 6 years old),
personal identity verification at the office and possession of a PESEL number.
✅ Daily verification by ZUS: legal employment, actual residence in Poland, no fictitious use of cross-border movement.
➡️ End of abuses – the system of benefits and healthcare services will be available only to people actually residing in Poland.
➡️ President Karol Nawrocki emphasized: this is the last such Act. Time for normality and equal rules for foreigners.
This decision is important not only for social and migration policy but also for the labor market, education, and healthcare.
